A range of guided tours are available, leading tourists to some of Cozumel's most famous attractions and including jungle tours, eco tours and even horse riding.

Scuba diving and snorkelling are amongst the most popular tourist attractions on Cozumel and some of the best scuba diving sites lie within the Parque Nacional Marino Arrecifes de Cozumel, a national marine park, which has been protected since the mid-1990s. Deep-sea fishing, glass bottom cruises and an array of water sports are also worth considering. At night-time, many tourists head to Cozumel's westerly beaches for a romantic walk beneath the stars, particularly those directly north of San Miguel.

Many dive centres, experienced instructors and dive schools can be found on the island and also around the nearby Playa del Carmen. For snorkellers, the best snorkelling attractions are reached by boat, although the waters around the Playa San Francisco, the Playa La Ceiba and Bahia Chankanaab are more than enough for most.
