Lima Golf Courses and Clubs

There are a number of good golf courses around the Lima area of Peru. However, it should be noted that most of Lima's golf courses do not really allow visitors, being restricted to members only.

Therefore, if you are holidaying in Lima and looking for a round, you need to be a little organised and plan ahead, staying at one of the hotels which come complete with golf privileges. There include both the Sonesta Hotel El Olivar, and also the Country Club Lima Hotel, both of which offer competitively priced golfing packages.

General Information

The Lima Golf Club is particularly close to the city and is to be found alongside the Country Club Lima Hotel. With 18 very scenic holes and a golfing par of 72, this course is amongst the oldest within the Pacific River Basin, dating as far back as 1924, and remains highly regarded throughout Latin America.

Facilities at the clubhouse are extensive and not only include a bar and restaurant, but also several shops, a large function room, and a terraced area overlooking the course itself. Also available at the Lima Golf Club is a swimming pool, fitness centre, tennis and squash courts, a practice green, and driving bays.

Also of interest is the 18-hole Country Club de Villa, which is a private club where visitors are permitted. Sited within Lima and close to the Pantanos de Villa nature reserve, the Country Club de Villa was founded in 1957 and boasts exceptional sporting facilities, including some 12 tennis courts and four swimming pools. The golf course at the Country Club de Villa ranks amongst the very best that Peru has to offer.
