Chiclayo Capitan FAP Jose A. Quinones Gonzales International Airport (CIX) Information

(Chiclayo, Peru)

The Capitan FAP Jose A. Quinones Gonzales International Airport is one of many regional airports in Peru. It services the city of Chiclayo, in the north-western part of the country. The city is known for its proximity to the coast, as well as the pre-historic archaeological sites of Northern Wari.

Located just east of Chiclayo city centre, the airport is a convenient transportation option to this fourth-largest city in Peru. The coastal town of Pimentel is only a short drive away, as are other popular coastal resort towns such as Las Mercedes and Santa Rosa. The city zoo, a popular attraction, can be accessed via the PE-6A road.

This single terminal, single runway airport is serviced primarily by domestic airlines such as LAN Peru and TACA Peru. However, charter and private aircraft also use this facility. Flights are mostly to Lima, from where international passengers can transit to international destinations.
