Chiclayo Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

The endless summer climate of Chiclayo is warm and inviting throughout the year, with little rainfall and plenty of sunshine. Officially, Chiclayo's summer months fall between December and March, and this really is the only time of the year when you are likely to experience rainy weather of any kind.

However, summer rainfall levels in Chiclayo are moderate to say the least, and rarely exceeds 60 mm / 2.4 inches for both February and March. The favourable year-round climate means that whenever you arrive in this part of Peru, you don't have to worry about the weather when sightseeing.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Cooling breezes make the high temperatures feel all the more pleasant, although those heading to the beach should definitely bring sun cream. Worth noting, outside of the summer months, the coastline is known for its seasonal mist, which is called the 'garua' and can make the beaches a little overcast at times. However, as you move inland, the climate soon changes and the mist quickly disappears.

Many people choose to visit Chiclayo during the summer season. Wet weather is most likely to occur between February and March, although rainfall is moderate at most and far from heavy. Spring is another popular time to arrive, at the beginning of October.
