The climate in Cayo Guillermo is subtropical and so visitors can expect warm to hot temperatures all year round. Humidity is the factor that turns the otherwise pleasantly warm weather into a stifling oven. While the islands have a consistent humidity level between 75 and 95 percent, humidity reaches its peak during the rainy season from May and October.

Another factor to consider when planning your trip to Cayo Guillermo is the Cuban hurricane season. Potentially damaging storms can arrive any time between June and November, so keep an eye on the weather report if you are travelling during these months, or simply avoid them altogether. Pack plenty of lightweight clothing for a visit here, and an umbrella and rain gear if arriving between June and November.

The ideal time to visit Cayo Guillermo and Cayo Coco is during the dry season, from January to April. Although rain still occasionally falls during these winter months, showers are sporadic and won't dampen your travel plans much at all. The temperatures during this period are also slightly cooler than those between May and October, but the overall climate is still warm enough to enjoy the beach.

The peak travel season coincides with the dry winter months. Expect busy conditions between November and April, as well as during July and August. Trade winds help keep the air temperatures at a reasonable 27°C / 81°F most of the year, with a drop down to around 20°C / 68°F in the winter.
