St. George's Beaches and Water Sports
(St. George's, Bermuda)
The parish of St. George's contains some very appealing sandy stretches, with beaches here generally being noticeably quieter than those to the south. This is particularly the case if there are no cruise ships docked nearby.
Without question, Tobacco Bay is the most famous and alluring of the many beaches around St. George's. Tobacco Bay offers soft white sand and is rather rocky under the water's surface, meaning that there are plenty of opportunities for snorkelling.
General Information
Tobacco Bay is located on Park Road, on the northernmost edge of
Bermuda, and is now a national park. Its beach is especially popular, since it is one of the most accessible on the entire island.
A shuttle bus goes from the town centre, although it only takes about 20 minutes to walk here. This sandy beach is outfitted with rental and snack facilities and is excellent for swimming.
