Toledo Hotels and Accommodation

(Toledo, Castile-La Mancha, Spain)

Although there is an array of accommodation to be found both in and around Toledo, the sheer popularity of the Castile-La Mancha region can mean that hotels soon fill up. Lodging in Toledo is especially hard to come by during the Easter period, when many Holy Week processions take place. Soon after, the Feast of Corpus Christi is another crowd puller in the city and its popularity tends to be reflected in the hotel rates at that time.

Rather than wandering along the cobbled alleyways of Toledo upon your arrival, looking for accommodation, an advance reservation is invaluable, particularly if you have a heavy suitcase or two. Apart from hotels, the city's lodging also comes in the form of campsites, hostales (hostels), pensiones (boarding houses) and a youth hostel - the HI Albergue Juvenil en San Servano, close to the Rio Tajo.

Hotels in Toledo, of which there are a wide variety covering the price spectrum, are generally located on and around Plaza de Zocodover (Zoco), along roads such as the Calle de Recoletos and the Calle de Juan Labrador. To the west and past the Avenida de la Cava (CM-4000), the Avenida de Carlos III is also known for its plentiful accommodation, which is just minutes from the Universidad de Castilla La Mancha.

During the winter (January and February) several mid- and top-range hotels in Toledo offer lower rated rooms. Prices include service charges and value-added tax (IVA) is automatically added to the bill.
