Malaga has a thriving arts scene, which comes as no big surprise since this city is the actual birthplace of Pablo Picasso.

One of Malaga's premier art galleries is the Museo Picasso (Picasso Museum), which celebrates the life of this world-famous modernist artist.

Further notable galleries in this Costa del Sol area include the Museo Casa Natal de Picasso - where many of the artist's original works are displayed.

The equally noteworthy Museo Municipal de Malaga may also appeal and regularly features changing exhibitions of both paintings and sculptures.

The popular Museo Picasso Malaga features an array of Picasso's works of art from private collections, including paintings, engravings, sculptures and ceramics. Operated by two foundations, the Fundación Museo Picasso and also the Fundación Paul, Christine y Bernard Ruiz-Picasso, the museum is one of the Costa del Sol's premier art galleries and is housed in a 16th-century building, full of Andalusian character.

Museo Municipal de Malaga (Municipal Museum)

Located in the Reding district, the Museo Municipal de Malaga displays numerous temporary art exhibitions. Featured in this well-known museum are a wealth of modern paintings and sculptures by well-known artists.
