Re. Touching
Did you try the Tower Museum too? I'm positive that you did. If not, please do so next time! More great insight into the plight of Northern Ireland and Derry, while telling the story of its often war-torn history.

Touching
As my ancestors made their home and their living in Derry before heading over to the US at the start of the 20th century, I have always had been interested in the history of Northern Ireland /I reland and the 'Troubles'. Those with similar interests to mine should make sure that the Museum of Free Derry is high up on their itineraries. Only complaint I would have is that the museum tour is a little short!

Great educational tour
Prior to arriving in Derry on our tour of the UK, we had greatly enjoyed the walk on the castle walls that was made available to us in the historical city of York. Imagine our delight then when we found that Derry too had its own City Walls. Great for a little walk with plenty of tours available.

How long must we sing this song?
As a massive U2 fan, I just had to visit the Bloody Sunday Memorial site as I felt it would give me a greater understanding of one of my favourite songs. As some of our family is Irish, it was quite emotional too but is a Derry must-do.

A walk through the wood
After a day of mostly historical attractions, I wished to take a distraction-free walk the morning after - which is why I headed to Ness Wood. This is a peaceful part of Derry and the wood is great for walking through. Not too far from the town centre either, at less than seven miles.
