Killarney Hotels and Accommodation

(Killarney, County Kerry, Republic of Ireland)

There really is good diversity here considering the small size of the town and, as a plus, Killarney hotels can also be booked ahead of time online.

Naturally, hotels and lodging options mostly congregate around the town centre along the main streets and near the bus and train stations. Hotels become particularly busy in the June to September high season and also during the main festivals, especially around St. Patrick's Day in March.

Where to Stay

Look to the town centre and along Kenmare Place for the best of Killarney's hotels, as well as heading south down Muckross Road. The latter leads down through Killarney National Park, where there is also a good choice of lodging.

B&Bs offer the best value accommodation in Killarney and generally come with a homely atmosphere, as well as the obligatory breakfast. Unfortunately, some B&Bs choose to close during the winter low season, meaning you may have to stay with one of the bigger hotel chains.

If you are stuck and can find nothing suitable in Killarney, consider accommodation near the airport, in Farranfore or Castleisland. Heading south, Kenmare also has a good complement of hotels and B&Bs.

Peak season in Killarney is July and August, with September and June easier going. You will have no problems finding somewhere to stay in May or October, but many places close down between November and March.
