The Museum Kunst Palast is worthy of some time and home to a good collection of European paintings, many of which date back to more than 1,000 years. A particularly diverse art gallery, also look out for the exquisite collection of Art Nouveau items, and the countless glassworks originating from both China and India. Other highlights include various visiting exhibitions, and also numerous modern paintings and sculptures from today.

A major exhibition venue known for its visiting exhibitions and impressive art works, the Kunsthalle features a calendar brimming with events. Particularly notable are the hall's regular photography shows, which vary greatly in style and often feature local up-and-coming German photographers.

Located in the historic Old Town area of Dusseldorf, the K20 Kunstsammlung am Grabbeplatz art collection is not to be missed and dates back around 50 years. Housing many impressive paintings by German artists, including a number from the city of Dusseldorf and North Rhine Westphalia area as a whole, the collection is split into themed zones and well lit, with works by famous 20th-century artists, such as Picasso and Paul Klee.

K21 Kunstsammlung im Ständehaus (K21 Art Collection at the Ständehaus)

One of the newest additions to the arts scene in the city of Dusseldorf, the K21 Kunstsammlung im Ständehaus lies on the southerly outskirts. Showcasing local contemporary paintings at their best, the gallery also features many large photographs, installation art works, and even videos. Audio guides are available for just a small fee.
