The Art Hall (Nuremberg Kunsthalle) dates back more than 50 years and specialises in the Second Modernism period. Various exhibitions of paintings, seminars, lectures, presentations and other events take place throughout the year here.

New Museum for Art and Design (Neues Museum für Kunst und Design)

A new addition to the arts scene in the city of Nuremberg, the New Museum for Art and Design, known locally as the Neues Museum für Kunst und Design, is famed for its architecture as much as its contents. With modern art works, monthly programmes and an impressive permanent collection, this striking glass-clad building will appeal to art lovers everywhere.

Fembo City Museum (Stadtmuseum Fembohaus)

Dating back to the early part of the 15th century, the Fembo City Museum is a particularly eye-catching historical building and was once a grand residence. The museum houses a large collection of paintings, antiquities and furniture, displayed in elaborately decorated rooms with many period features. Guided tours of the house and its many rooms are available.

Historic Art Shelter / Bunker Museum (Historischer Kunstbunker)

Whilst not a gallery as such, the Historic Art Shelter was one of Nuremberg's most secret locations during the Second World War, where many of the city's most important and valuable masterpieces were stored within specially air-conditioned, insulated rooms. Located within the Kaiserburg castle hill, this unusual art museum is well preserved and comprises a number of caves and vaults. Whilst today the art works have been returned to their rightful owners, a number of statues are displayed here. This museum clearly illustrates how important art is to the city.
