Narva Castle - what this place is all about
You can't come to Narva without seeing the castle, it's almost impossible. A major road is close by and this really is the main reason that you would come here if you are a tourist. In the summer, the grounds are a fabulous place to have a picnic. The setting is enhanced even more by the river views.

The Centre of Narva
The city centre is based around Peetri Square (Valjak). This is the city's main town square, around which there are a lot of attraction restored buildings, with a definite Soviet character. This is a good place to start exploring the city on foot.

The City Hall
This was constructed in 1671 and has a distinctive Baroque appearance. The City Hall is relatively close to Narva Castle and the river, and houses a good art gallery with some excellent Estonian paintings. |Well they looked pretty good to me anyway, but I'm no art buff!

Castle Walls
Narva Castle has a large stone wall, used to defend the castle against attack. There are two big bells next to the entrance.
