Narva Events and Festivals 2014 / 2015
(Narva, Ida-Virumaa, Estonia)
Various festivals take place in Narva and celebrate both the city's past and important dates in the history of
Estonia, meaning that there are many things to do, especially between May and August. Sporting events are popular during the summer months, when football matches are regularly held at the Kreenholmi Staadion, which can accommodate up to 3,000 spectators and is the home ground of the FC Narva Trans.
Narva Castle has long been a venue for many of the biggest festivals and celebrations in the city and throughout the course of the year plays host to various events, including concerts and theatrical performances. June 23rd is a date to remember and marks St. John's Day (Jaanipäev). Each year in Narva and throughout Estonia, this date marks one of the city's biggest nights out, celebrating the pagan tradition of Midsummer's Night, where big bonfires roar and outdoor parties take place.
