Where to Stay

Amongst the most desirable places to stay is the scenic Ocean Village, one of England's most prominent marina complexes and home to a true plethora of entertainment options. The most expensive hotels in this part of Southampton tend to predictably be the ones with the best views, although many do offer seasonal packages, particularly at the weekends.

The summer months are always a busy time in Southampton and many of the best hotels become fully booked. Hotels rates during the high season are generally at their most expensive, although the Christmas period can also be pricey and extremely hectic, together with the New Year.

Further afield, many superb hotels and accommodation options are sited within the New Forest National Park. Lyndhurst is especially noteworthy and stands to the north-east of the centre, while Brockenhurst is also worth considering and lies on the New Forest's southerly outskirts. Also close to Southampton, Fareham, Gosport, Portsmouth, Christchurch and Bournemouth are all overflowing with hotels, guest houses and more, to suit every possible taste.
