A visit to St. Ives is really what you make of it and there is plenty on offer here to keep you occupied and entertained. The sunny days and extremely hot weather lend a certain Mediterranean feel to St. Ives and much of the scenery here almost resembles a movie set, with cliff faces, whitewashed cottages and sweeping sandy beaches.

Locals in St. Ives live life to the full and for them, this is usually strongly influenced by the hoards of visiting tourists in the summer. Outside of July and August, St. Ives is considerably quieter and this is a great time to explore the many winding alleyways and small squares around the fisherman's quarter, and beyond.

Many well-attended events take place at different times of the year, so it is a good idea to ask the staff if there are any local festivities worth searching out whilst you are here.
