Zagreb Art Galleries

(Zagreb, Croatia)

The art scene in Zagreb is thriving and many galleries now call the city their home. Both commercial galleries and art museums are present in Zagreb, providing plenty of choice.

Many of these galleries cover past masters and more contemporary artists, with the best including the Museum for Arts and Crafts, the Klovicevi Dvori and the Croatian Museum of Naive Art. For modern masterpieces, the Gallery of Modern Art (Moderna Galerija) is the place to head, while for something more traditional and European in flavour, be sure to check out the renowned Strossmayer Gallery of Old Masters (Strossmayerova Galerija Starih Majstora).

Notable artists exhibited here include Franjo Mraz (1910 to 1981), Ivan Generalic (1914 to 1992), Mirko Virius (1889 to 1943) and Sofija Natetilic Penavusa (1913 to 1994).
