Banten Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

(Banten, West Java, Indonesia)

Since the Indonesian island of Java is so close to the equator, you can expect a hot climate and sunny weather whenever you arrive in Banten. Temperatures hover around 30°C / 86°F throughout the year in the province of Banten, although the possibility of heavy rainfall does affect the holiday seasons.

Towards the end of October, the dry weather soon becomes a thing of the past and this wet season lasts right up to early April. The climate is still hot, but the tropical storms and downpours can certainly cool things down quite dramatically. However, if you wish to visit Banten at this time of the year and take advantage of the reduced hotel rates, then you can be fairly assured that amongst the rain, there will be plenty of fine days and dry spells.

Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

As you can imagine, most holiday makers wish to visit Indonesia during the dry season, which runs from May until September, outside of the monsoon weather. The entire province of Banten and West Java in general is especially busy during this period, and since the climate is both hot and humid, air-conditioned hotel rooms and rental cars are essential.

Daylight hours are relatively constant, lasting around 12 hours and providing lots of time to explore the region. In the dry season, festivals and religious celebrations on Java often last well into the night.
