The Big Foot Art Gallery and Handicrafts Centre

The Big Foot Art Gallery can be found within the village of Loutolim and regularly hosts many impressive art exhibitions. This is a good place to enjoy traditional and modern Indian art works and also purchase inexpensive paintings, which have often been created by local artists. Also often on exhibit at Goa's Big Foot Art Gallery are a number of pieces by local Goan school children.

Kerkar Art Complex

Enjoying a coastal setting next to Calangute Beach, the Kerkar Art Complex is dedicated to the works of Dr. Subodh Kerkar, a local Indian painter who regularly exhibits work abroad. Also expect to see some good examples of Indo-Portuguese handicrafts, contemporary pieces, and great views across the Arabian Sea. The Kerkar Art Complex is easy to reach from Panajim and is approximately 15 km / 9 miles from this city.

The Art Chamber (Galeria de Belas Artes)

Often referred to as the 'Galeria de Belas Artes' the Art Chamber resides within the Castelo Vermelho, just a short walk from Calangute Beach. Established in 1997, the gallery has gained a strong following and a good reputation, specialising in works by prominent artists, both Indian and international. Also on offer are regular art classes, perfect for visitors looking to improve their brush strokes.

Museum of Christian Art

Founded in the mid-1990s by both the Indian National Trust for Art and Cultural Heritage and the Calouste Gulbentian foundation of Portugal, the Museum of Christian Art is sited within Old Goa. This is a unique attraction and like no other in the whole of Asia, containing an unparalleled collection of religious sculptures, paintings, portraits, valuable stones, ivory carvings and statues. The Museum of Christian Art also contains a series of silver plaques and a number of detailed images of Christ and Mary Magdalene.
