Montpelier Golf Courses and Clubs

If you are staying in Montpelier and looking to play a round of golf, then there are a couple of courses that do stand out.

First is the 18-hole Barre Country Club, which is to be found roughly 25 minutes to the east of the capital, in nearby Plainfield. The Barre Country Club was established in the early 1920s as a nine-hole course and now ranks amongst the best golf courses that Vermont has to offer, coming complete with a very decent full-service restaurant overlooking the last green.

Slightly closer to the city center and roughly ten minutes to the southeast is the Montpelier Elks Country Club, which was founded in 1902. Here you can enjoy stunning views across the Green Mountains as you play your nine- or 18-hole combination.


Do bear in mind that the harsh winter weather means that local golfing opportunities are limited to the spring, summer and fall months.
