A small resort destination located on the far easterly side of Tennessee state, close to the border of North Carolina, the city of Gatlinburg offers a wealth of outdoor recreational attractions, due to its setting alongside the famous Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

Gatlinburg draws tourists year-round, with summer visitors enjoying the picturesque views whilst hiking, and winter visitors coming to ski, snowboard and snowtube down the slopes at the Ober Gatlinburg Amusement Park. Roughly an hour to the northwest, Knoxville also makes for a popular day trip.
