Located to the east of Walnut Street Pedestrian Bridge, Chattanooga's Bluff View Art District is an ideal area for history buffs to spend some time. Attractions here include the beautiful Sculpture Garden, which overlooks the Tennessee River; the recently renovated Hunter Museum of American Art, with its diverse collection of art; Houston Museum of Decorative Arts; and Coolidge Park, situated just across the river. Also worth a look is Frasier Street, known for its many shops and restaurants.

Walnut Street Bridge

Audubon Acres and Maclellan Island

Audubon Acres is an important wildlife conservation area of Chattanooga, managed by the Audubon Society. Covering almost 150 acres / 60 hectares, attractions here include nature trails, a wealth of native flora and fauna, and a number of exhibits. Maclellan Island is an equally important protected area and spreads around 20 acres / 8 hectares. The island can be found in the center of the Tennessee River and contains a particularly diverse habitat full of local wildlife.
