Salem Vineyards and Wineries

(Salem, Oregon - OR, USA)

Salem is known for its fairly high concentration of vineyards and wineries, since the climate and growing regions are ideally suited to the successful cultivation of grapes. In fact, it is documented in regional history that some of the early pioneers brewed their own wine, back in the 1840s, although it was not until the 1960s arrived that commercial production commenced.

Nowadays, there are more than 300 wineries located in the state of Oregon, with some of the best being centered around its capital city.

Of particular note is the Honeywood Winery, which is the oldest in the whole of Oregon and has its origins in the 1930s, when it was named the Columbia Distilleries and specialized in fruit brandies.
