Salem Hotels and Accommodation

(Salem, Oregon - OR, USA)

If you are looking for accommodation in Salem, then there are a few noticeable clusters worth bearing in mind when planning your trip.

On the western side of the city, a group of cheap hotels and branded motels line stretches of Interstate I-5, while further lodging is to be found both in the downtown district and close to the Salem Municipal Airport. Located on Ryan Drive Southeast and just off Mission Street, the Best Western Plus Mill Creek Inn is particularly close to the airport, as is the neighboring La Quinta Inn and Suites Hotel.

Nearby, further lodging comes in the form of the Residence Inn, the Comfort Suites Salem and the Howard Johnson Inn, all of which are familiar hotel chains offering reliable budget accommodation.

Where to Stay

For tourists, accommodation in downtown Salem is usually the preferred option. The Grand Hotel on Liberty Street Southeast is a reliable choice, with solid reviews and a convenient location close to the Elsinore Theater, the Reed Opera House and the Riverfront Park.

Just down the road and on Commercial Street, the Executive Inn offers well-placed budget lodging. Both of these hotels also have the advantage of being just a few blocks away from the Nordstrom Salem Shopping Center.

Situated on State Street and just past the campus of the historic Willamette University, the Salem Travelodge is another good option for those who prefer budget accommodation in a central downtown setting. Head to the north, to the suburb of Hayesville, and you will soon reach the Rodeway Inn Hotel on Astoria Way Northeast, which is just off Interstate I-5 (exit 258) and the Portland Road Northeast, and is a popular choice for business travelers looking for good road connections.

If you prefer something more intimate than a mainstream chain hotel or motel, then homely accommodation in central Salem is on the menu at local B&Bs / guest houses. The Bookmark Bed and Breakfast and also Betty's B&B, both of which reside on D Street Northeast, are worth bearing in mind, being just a stroll away from the Oregon State Capitol Building and its surrounding attractions, such as the Wilson Park, the Willamette Rose Garden and the Saturday Market.
