The Columbus Museum of Art is home to an interesting collection of historic Cubist paintings, with notable artists including both Gris and Picasso. This gallery is also known for its collection of Degas, Matisse and Monet paintings, as well as its numerous words by renowned local artist, George Bellows. Points of reference nearby include the State Community College, Franklin University, the Grant Medical Center, the Columbus Metropolitan Library and the Topiary Park.

The Columbus Museum of Art offers a wide range of art, from French Impressionist paintings to Modernists, as well as regular temporary exhibitions. Sculpture and photography also figure highly in the museum's galleries, as do woodcarvings and local artists, while the children's program is highly popular.

Somewhat eclectic, this independent gallery is located just a short drive from downtown, being located on the northwesterly side of the city, close to the Grandview Heights district and particularly nearby both Memorial Park and Gowdy Park. Visitors will find a wide range of painting and sculpture styles to browse and buy.

Located on the Ohio State University campus and close to both the Oval and the Newport Music Hall, the Wexner Center for the Arts is home to regular temporary exhibitions of contemporary art, performance art, and mixed media works. The theater offers concerts, independent film screenings, and cultural talks and lectures. Each year, the prestigious Wexner Prize is awarded to the artist exhibiting the highest standard of innovation, integrity and quality.

Global Gallery

The Global Gallery is an interesting exhibition space, home to a wide variety of artwork from third world countries and made by Third-World artisans. Highlights include clothing, instruments and paintings, with proceeds from sales going directly to the artists in the interests of fair trade.

Riffe Gallery
