Jefferson City Art Galleries

(Jefferson City, Missouri - MO, USA)

Held each year at the beginning of May and the end of September, the twice-yearly Jefferson City Art Exposed Gallery Crawl is one event worth looking out for in the Missouri capital and takes place throughout the city.

Most of the city's galleries participate in the 'Crawl', with artists being on hand to discuss their creations and plenty of nibbles available. The event is completely free of charge and includes venues such as the Missouri River Regional Library, the Lincoln University Fine Arts Department and the Frank and Billie Railton Gallery, located at the Etta and Joseph Miller Performing Arts Center.

The Missouri State Museum boasts a fine collection of art works and portraits, which tend to relate to the history of the state, as well as Jefferson City. Managed by the Missouri State Museum, the Elizabeth Rozier Gallery stands within the historic Amtrak Station, which was formerly known as the Union Hotel and is actually part of the important Jefferson Landing State Historic Site.
