Located in Taney County, Missouri, Branson has a population of around 7,000, spread across a number of historic and scenic districts, neighborhoods and locations. Each year Branson attracts flocks of visitors for two main reasons.

Firstly, Branson is an entertainment Mecca, boasting over 400 restaurants, 40 live performance theaters and dozens of events and festivals spread liberally throughout the year. Head to Branson's entertainment district and take your pick from theaters, eateries, amusement parks, shopping complexes and plenty of places to stay.


Secondly, in a pleasing partnership with this wealth of entertainment, the Branson area is blessed with astounding natural beauty. Branson is located on the shores of pristine Lake Taneycomo and is close to Table Rock Lake and Bull Shoals Lake. Combine this with stunning mountain scenery and you also have a wealth of outdoor activities to choose from.

Downtown Branson

Set on the banks of the crystalline Lake Taneycomo, the historic Downtown district of Branson is packed with hundreds of shops, fine restaurants and leafy parks, making it a popular area for visitors and residents alike. The waterfront is the perfect place for dining in Branson, with an array of excellent restaurants, not to mention a floating gourmet establishment. Downtown's docks are also the starting point for some of the lake's boat excursions. The district is also home to the Branson Scenic Railway Depot, from where you can make the picturesque journey to Galena.

The Strip

Branson's entertainment district, better known as simply 'The Strip', is jam-packed with theaters, eateries, amusement parks, shopping complexes and plenty of places to stay. Seven miles of Missouri State Highway 76 make up Branson's bustling Strip. Whether you're looking for live music, amusement parks, great food or cultural attractions, you are sure to find them all and more along The Strip, one of Branson's most lively and exciting districts.

Indian Point / West Branson District

This peninsula is home to a myriad of resorts, many of which are situated on the banks of scenic Table Rock Lake. The Indian Point / West Branson District is also the setting for one of Branson's most popular attractions, Silver Dollar City Theme Park, and nearby Marvel Cave.

Shepherd of the Hills

Branson's Missouri State Highway 248 is known as the Shepherd of the Hills Expressway and is lined with shops and attractions. This district is also home to leafy Roark Valley and Stockstill Park, with its pretty meadows traversed by Roark Creek. The Gretna Road area houses three large factory outlet malls, making this district of Branson a particularly good place to bag a bargain. There are also a number of hotels in the neighborhood.

The Falls District

Characterized by its magnificent scenery, Branson's Falls District encompasses Compton Ridge, The Falls and Cooper Creek. Set amongst these breathtaking features is accommodation to suit all preferences and budgets, including comfortable resorts, hotels and campgrounds. Situated just north of Lake Taneycomo, the area is a great retreat from the Branson's busier districts and is the ideal place to relax and take in the scenery.
