Just a short walk around the headland from Aquinnah Cliffs, Gay Head Lighthouse, sometimes referred to as Aquinnah Lighthouse, is a soaring column of white steel built to protect ships from the deadly Devil's Bridge shoals. The lighthouse offers some stunning views, and together with the Gay Head Cliffs, forms Martha's Vineyards most popular tourist attraction. Unfortunatley, due to erosion of the cliffs the lighthouse is in danger of falling into the sea in the not so distant future. There is currently a 'Keep on Shining' campaign to raise funds to relocate the lighthouse.
