The Kentucky Horse Park is Lexington's primary landmark, offering a unique opportunity for visitors. There are a number of museums, theaters, galleries and live working-farm showcases here. Grazing on its green pastures are more than 50 breeds of horses. Visitors are welcomed with a wide-screen award-winning presentation about the horse park before entering. A gift shop is on campus and offers horse park memorabilia.

McConnell Springs

Home to the early settlers of Bluegrass, this 26-acre / 10-hectare natural reserve offers a variety of environmental and historical features. Visitors can walk along manmade trails that take you past natural springs, limestone fences - that were originally built in the early 18th century and have been recently restored - and decays of a historic farm, mill and quarry. Tours around Lexington's McConnell Springs are scheduled regularly from the Visitors Center, where there is a naturalist on-site.

Founded more than 200 years ago, Alltech's Lexington Brewing Company is an important institution in the city and supplies its famous Kentucky Ale to restaurants and bars throughout the region and beyond. Offering guided tours explaining the brewing process from start to finish, the Lexington Brewing Company also contains a popular gift shop, where you can purchase its famous beer, together with related gifts.
