Shopping options in Sarasota are diverse and there are some quality malls scattered around the city, as well as specialty antique shops and galleries.

St. Armands Circle is Sarasota's premier shopping mall, with its classy boutiques and restaurants. Pineapple Avenue is known for its antique stores, Palm Avenue for its art galleries and Main Street for just about everything in between.

Local malls generally open at about 10:00 and stay open throughout the day until they close their doors at around 21:00, later on Fridays and Saturdays.

Prime Outlets Ellenton is known for its discount outlets and although it is situated a fair way from Sarasota, it is well worth the hike. This outdoor complex is modeled in a Spanish style and boasts more than 100 outlets with bargains galore. Prime Outlets is open every day including Sundays.

One of the city's most comprehensive shopping malls, Westfield Sarasota brims with quality and top stores including Macy's, JCPenney, Sears, The Disney Store, Pacific Sunwear and Aeropostale. The Westfield also has AMC movie theaters, a food court and a play zone for kids. There are 125 quality stores here altogether.
