Miami Weather, When to Go and Climate Information

The city of Miami has a fairly mild climate and the weather is often extremely sunny and hot. The city is set next to the ocean and in the height of the summer, this does add a level of humidity, although the ocean breeze can be particularly refreshing. Generally the best times to visit are from May to early June and mid-September to October, when the climate is most pleasant.

In the winter, the Miami climate in December, January and February has mild average temperatures between 13°C to 15°C. Outside of the winter months, the temperatures only vary slightly and remain consistently warm, with average summer temperatures in June, July, August and September of between 25°C to 30°C.


The summer climate is very pleasant and warm. In general, temperatures in the heart of the city tend to be slightly higher than the rest of Miami, as the heat is absorbed into the large buildings, skyscrapers and concrete. Whatever the weather, there is always plenty to see and do in this part of coastal Florida.
