Hugh Taylor Birch State Recreation Area

Covering a vast 180 acres / 73 hectares of land, Fort Lauderdale's Hugh Taylor Birch State Recreational Area was a gift to the state from the wealthy Florida resident of the same name. The park is split into four distinct eco systems and offers visitors a range of activities including fishing, picnicking, and swimming, biking and camping. There is also a mile-long freshwater lagoon where visitors can take a paddle in rented canoes.
