Sedona offers a range of accommodation, although many hotels in this part of Arizona are known for being a little expensive. There are, however, a small number of cheap motels in Sedona, with other inexpensive lodging options including neighboring camping sites, youth hostels, award-winning guest houses and basic chain hotels.

Uptown Sedona is often the most convenient place to stay and comes with the highest concentration of accommodation. Further hotels and B&Bs can be found throughout the city, particularly around West Sedona and in the Village of Oak Creek, on the outskirts. Cheaper accommodation is located within nearby Arizona towns, cities and areas such as Camp Verde (29 miles / 47 km), Cottonwood (20 miles / 32 km), Flagstaff (30 miles / 48 km) and Lake Montezuma (24 miles / 38 km).


Where to Stay

Further hotels in the Sedona area are based next to the scenic Oak Creek Canyon, which lies 27 miles / 43 km to the north, and also around the Sedona Airport (SEZ). Located on Airport Road, the hilltop Sky Ranch Lodge is particularly close to the terminal and boasts stunning panoramas of both the cityscape and the famous Red Rocks, whilst being handy for the Airport Mesa Vortex trail.

Budget accommodation is available in Sedona, although is in short supply and so should be reserved well in advance. Cheap hotels and modest inns are grouped along the Highway US-179 and West Highway US-89A, where you will be able to find the likes of the Bell Rock Inn and Suites, the Comfort Inn, the Days Inn, the Desert Quail Inn, the Kokopelli Inn, the Quality Inn Kings Ransom Hotel and the Sedona Super 8 Motel.

Other cheap accommodation options in the city include the Hostel Sedona on Soldiers Wash Drive, popular with backpackers. The youth hostel features large dormitories, as well as several inexpensive rooms suiting couples looking for bargain lodging.

Camping sites provide alternative accommodation for those looking for somewhere cheap to stay in Sedona, with most remaining open from May to September, or longer. Often managed by the USFS (US Forest Service), popular campgrounds in the area include the Rancho Sedona RV Park on Bear Wallow Lane, the Hawkeye Red Rock RV Park on Art Barn Road, and a number of campsites around the nearby Oak Creek Canyon, along the North Highway US-89A.

Mid-range hotels, inns and lodges are plentiful in Sedona and are particularly concentrated around the Arroyo Pinon Drive, the East Cortez Drive, the Navoti Drive, the North and West Highway US-89A, Northview and the Sunridge Circle. Providing good value for money and modern amenities, some hotels in Sedona offer scenic views and leisure facilities, including swimming pools and nearby golf courses.

Located on the North Highway US-89A, the three-star Junipine Hotel Resort is highly recommended and comes with condo-style accommodation and a scenic setting alongside the Oak Creek, being surrounded by the famous red-rock canyons. Also of note is the Summit Resort on the Navoti Drive, which stands near the Red Rock Crossing, the Cultural Park and the Sedona Center for Arts. The city of Sedona also features more than 20 friendly B&B guest houses, most of which are owned and operated by locals.

A number of four-star luxury hotels can be found in Sedona. Offering the ultimate place to stay, with spacious rooms and upmarket accommodation, top hotels reside along Boynton Canyon Road, the Canyon Circle Drive, the Hozoni Drive, Portal Lane and the Rojo Drive. The Sedona Rouge Resort on the West Highway US-89A is especially notable and stands on the western side of the city, between a series of popular restaurants. Also very noteworthy is the Hilton Golf Hotel Resort and Spa on the Ridge Trail Drive, where the onsite 18-hole championship golf course really does make the most of the surrounding red rocks and mountainous scenery.
