Victoria International Airport is located on the Saanich Peninsula in British Columbia. This airport is the main gateway for international travelers visiting Victoria, the capital of the province. Known for its natural beauty, this Canadian city attracts visitors from all over the world, who come looking to explore Vancouver Island.
The air hub services just under two million passengers a year and handles both domestic and international flights, through its single terminal and nine gates. Located on the southernmost point of Vancouver Island, north of the city of Victoria, it is one of five airports on the island, although the only one offering international flights.
Major scheduled airlines that service this facility include Air Canada, Alaska Airlines, Flair Airlines, Orca Airways, Pacific Coastal and WestJet. Seasonal charter flights to
Mexico and
Hawaii are on offer with Sunwing Airlines, CanJet and WestJet.

Victoria International Airport is located some 12 miles / 20 km north of the city. The site resides within the southern part of Vancouver Island, where it offers good connections to the city of Vancouver (via a ferry or short flight to the northeast) and the Olympic National Park in
Washington state (via a ferry trip to the south). Useful points of reference close by include the Glen Meadows Golf and Country Club, the John Dean Provincial Park, Rotary Park and the Shoal Harbor Bird Sanctuary.

- ATMs are located in the main hall of the terminal
- Passengers will find a Starbucks coffee shop, the Airside Cafe and a Tim Hortons outlet at the airport
- Several shopping concessions including LT Travel Retail North America are available in the terminal
- Car hire companies in the Arrivals area include Avis, Budget, Hertz and National. Off-site rental is available with Enterprise
- Short-term parking (for up to two hours) is available adjacent to the terminal. Long-term parking is available behind the short-term parking lot
- Business facilities are located in the upper Departures area
- Those travelling with pets can use the Pet Relief Area, which is sited adjacent to the terminal
- Families travelling with young children can use the Children's Play Area in the upper Departures area
- Wi-Fi access is available throughout the terminal
- Passengers bringing bicycles can make use of the Bicycle Assembly Station in the short-term parking lot, as well as general bicycle storage facilities
Cars
From the airport, visitors can easily access Route 17 (Patricia Bay Highway) south, which leads directly to the city center of Victoria. Route 17 north provides access to northern points of the island, where a ferry terminal is located. The drive into the city should take in the region of 30 minutes. As you drive to the city, you will pass by Elk Lake, Beaver Lake, the Royal Oak Golf Course, Rithet's Bog Conservation Area, Rainbow Park and Swan Lake.

Public bus services are provided by BC Transit, with approximately 20 daily connects from the airport to the McTavish Transit Exchange. From this bus station, passengers can change for Victoria city center, the Saanich Peninsula and also Swartz Bay.
Private shuttle bus services are available through Akal Airporter, with services to hotels and city locations running between the hours of 05:00 and 22:00 each day. Of note, Akal Airporter is also known for its tours of the Butchart Gardens.

Yellow Cab of Victoria provides taxi services at the airport. Taxis are available just outside the terminal building. Depending on traffic, journeys to Victoria can take up to 45 minutes.
Ferries
From the nearby town of Sidney, just west of the airport, passengers have access to ferries bound for San Juan Island, Lopez Island and also Fidalgo Island. There is another ferry terminal in the north of the island, providing onward ferry links to Mayne Island, Tsawwassen and Galiano Island.
