Chimbote Hotels and Accommodation

There may be numerous hotels spread all around central Chimbote, but there is little in the way of luxury accommodation to be found. Lodging in Chimbote is in plentiful supply for budget travellers and backpackers, while families holidaying in this part of Peru's Ancash Region will also find plenty of choice.

The low season in Chimbote tends to fall between December and March, which is when hotels are reliably at their cheapest. However, during busy religious celebrations and public holidays, accommodation rates often rise and booking in advance is advisable.

Where to Stay

Some of the best budget lodging and accommodation options in the city are conveniently close to the very central Plaza de Armas and the Plaza 28 de Julio. The Hostal Chimbote lies on the Jiron Pardo, just a short stroll from the western side of the Plaza de Armas, while the Hostal Residencial el Parque on the Enrique Palacios is actually on the plaza itself.

More upmarket accommodation comes in the form of the very highly recommended Hotel Veritz on the Avenida Francisco Bolognesi. Also popular in Chimbote city centre is the nearby Hotel San Felipe, on the Jiron Pardo, which comes complete with its own glamorous casino and fifth-floor restaurant, overlooking the plaza. For views of the Pacific Ocean, consider the Real Hotel Grand Chimu next to the Malecon Miguel Grau boardwalk.
