Salvador Events, Things to Do and Festivals 2014 / 2015
(Salvador, Bahia, Brazil)
Typically Brazilian in their character, the residents of Salvador certainly like their festivals and the city boasts a very comprehensive calendar of annual events, with things to do and enjoy most months. Bahia enjoys its folkloric events and religious celebrations, while it is the annual Salvador Carnival which reliably draws the biggest crowds - more than one million people each year.
The summer and early autumn (December to March) forms the high season in Salvador and many of the city's principal festivals take place at this time of the year. Also worth noting are Tuesday nights, when partying in the Pelourinho district is almost mandatory, every week throughout the year.
