Christ Church Hotels and Accommodation

(Christ Church, Barbados)

Resorts and hotels in Barbados are among the most luxurious in the Caribbean. You will find plenty of accommodation options in Christ Church, including airport hotels and holiday-oriented lodging. More traditional tourist offerings are found within Christ Church's St. Lawrence Gap neighbourhood. The selection spans top-end vacation rentals and more affordable mid-range hotels.

Bridgetown may be the gateway to Barbados' south coast, but Christ Church is its epicentre. The ocean is more turbulent here on the south-east and east shores, which deters the main resorts that rely on calm waters and broad, sandy beaches to market their rooms. Accommodation here is competitively priced compared to the rest of the island, drawing a mix of surfers and escapists.

Where to Stay

St. Lawrence Gap has the best selection of mid-priced hotels and timeshares. Guests who stay in this part of Christ Church enjoy decent beaches by day and a stellar bar scene by night. Young travellers like St. Lawrence Gap because it hints at the upmarket Barbadian accommodation scene without inflicting excess damage on the pocketbook. With that in mind, hotels across this island are expensive, and a good deal here would be more like an average deal on a different Caribbean island.

A favourite in St. Lawrence Gap is the Rostrevor Hotel. It's located right on the beach near Barbados Golf Club, and has been voted 'Best Hotel in Barbados' more than once. Aparthotels such as the Little Bay Hotel are also popular and ideal for self-caterers who'd rather trade in-room services for more space and a bigger kitchen.

Based in St. Lawrence, you will be a 15-minute drive from the airport, but you won't be staying in a sterile airport hotel. Likewise, it's another 15 minutes in the opposite direction to get to Bridgetown, where the shopping and sightseeing options are better. For visitors who'd like to see as much with as little driving as possible, Christ Church is the place to be.
