Seasonal Climate Variations / When to Go

Many people choose to visit Lucerne during the spring and summer months, when the warm climate lends itself to hiking around the mountains and cycling. However, the winter months are also quite popular, with cross-country skiing being possible close by, after spells of heavy snowy weather.

Whenever you choose to visit Lucerne, do pack sensibly and bring a selection of warmer clothing. Even the hottest days can be followed by chilly nights, when locals often choose to eat and drink outside, particularly around the main streets and public squares.
