Chapel Bridge
When people are talking arount the Kapellbrucke, they are in actual fact talking about the Chapel Bridge. This has got to be the main sight in Lucerne and a good reason to come here - no doubt about it. It's not just a lovely, lovely old bridge though, it was a wooden roof and is more like an art gallery, because there are paintings all along the bridge. It is floodlit at night and I would image that the reflections would make a good photo if you are into that kind of thing.

Old Town
Everyone comes to the Old Town in Lucerne, particularly to the Kapellplatz and to St. Peter's Chapel. there are so many wonderful and historical buildings here, as well as the Kapellbruecke.

Take the cogwheel train to the top of Mount Pilatus
Yes, the bridges are very nice and all that, but I wanted to see a bit more of this part of Switzerland and so we jumped onboard the cogwheel railway and went right up to the top of Mount Pilatus. Apparently this railway is the steepest in the world. Looking back, I guess it really was quite steep. Lots of awesome views of the city, the mountains and the lakes from the top.

Views of Lucerne's Old Town
We found ourselves spending many a morning just milling around the Old Town and every time we came here, we found something new. There are pleasant views around almost every corner. I wish I wa an artist and could have captured it on canvas, but instead I had to use my ol' faithful camera.

Spreuer Bridge - the other bridge
You can't help but feel a little sorry for the old Spreuer Bridge, because it always seems to come second to the Chapel Bridge and it really is quite impressive in its own right. If the Chapel Bridge wasn't there at all, a lot more fuss would be made of the Spreuer. It may be smaller, but every bit as nice in my opinion, and when you walk across it, there are loads of good vantage points.
