Seville Art GalleriesAn appealing city with much to offer tourists, the art galleries of Seville are well worth looking out for. Ranking amongst the best on offer is the Andalusian Centre of Contemporary Art, which is known to the local Spaniards as the Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo and contains many large and colourful modern canvasses.

Other galleries of note in Seville include the Galeria Isabel Ignacio, the Galeria La Caja China and the Hospital de los Venerables Sacerdotes, the latter of which stands on the Plaza de los Venerables and is within walking distance of the sprawling Jardines Realse Alcázares, as well as the cathedral and numerous hotels.

The Centro Andaluz de Arte Contemporáneo is a contemporary art gallery, with a variety of different, modern collections of both paintings and sculptures. Situated in the Isla de la Cartuja neighbourhood and close to the Jardines del Guadalquivir, the gallery features many important works in a wide range of different styles.

Galeria Isabel Ignacio

This gallery displays contemporary, surrealist art, including many striking and imposing modern paintings. Exhibitions in the art gallery last around four weeks. The Galeria Isabel Ignacio is located in the Arenal area of the city and can be easily reached by bus.

Hospital de los Venerables Sacerdotes

Standing within the Santa Cruz area of Seville, the Hospital de los Venerables was built in the late 17th century. With numerous beautiful frescoes and a large dome, this imposing hospital was originally home to many elderly priests and today is used for various art-related exhibitions and events.

Galeria La Caja China

This is a particularly prominent gallery in Seville and has hosted many spectacular exhibitions of contemporary art by well-known and regarded artists. Exhibitions at the gallery tend to last around a month and usually include a mixture of both surrealist and abstract paintings and sculptures. The art gallery is situated in the historic centre of Seville.
