(Wroclaw, Silesia, Poland)

Picture of the springtime marathon raceVarious annual festivals and well-attended seasonal events take place in Wroclaw, especially during the summer months, meaning that visitors will usually find plenty of things to do, see and enjoy. Wroclaw's huge Centenary Hall (Hala Ludowa) is where many of these festivals and concerts are regularly staged and its vast interior can accommodate around 6,000 people.

The Centenary Hall was built in 1913 and commemorates Napoleon's defeat of 100 years before. Used as a venue for some of the biggest festivals, exhibitions, sporting events and theatrical performances in Wroclaw, the hall itself offers excellent acoustics and features a 65-metre / 213-foot dome and a spire towering some 96 metres / 305 feet.

Some of the biggest 2014 / 2015 festivals and popular events in Wroclaw include the Musica Polonica Nova Contemporary Music Festival each February, the city's marathon every April, and Jazz on the Odra in May, which is one of the biggest and most historical of all Poland's jazz festivals. Also worth looking out for in Wroclaw is the Arsenal Chamber Music Festival every July, and the Wratislavia Cantans International Festival in September, the city's extremely noteworthy celebration of music and fine arts.
