Breathtaking Sunsets
Make sure that you watch a Santorini sunset as they are rated as some of the best sunsets in the world. From the island you have a good view out to sea as the sun goes down.

Explore the Countryside
We rented a car and ventured out of the town past beautiful gardens and vineyards. We stopped at small churches along the way and got to see a more traditional way of life.

Day trip to Thirassia
We visited Thirassia for the day and once we were there we walked around the villages and religious sites. There were some lovely little restaurants where I ordered my favorite local dishes.

Boat Trips
The boat trip that we booked was worth the money and we got to see a volcano island and hot springs. Afterwards we went for lunch at a lively tavern and I sampled some of the local beer.

Re. Red Beach
We got to Red Beach by bus and then caught a water taxi which saved us walking the difficult path over rocks.

Red Beach
Loved Red beach but it was difficult to get there. The beach is named after the red cliffs and there are plenty of places where you can rent umbrellas to get out of the strong summer sun. We went snorkeling and saw a lot of marine life. The highlight for me was the taverns, which have been constructed into the caves.
