Picture of central road and storesAs you stroll around Kos Town it won't take you long to realise that the centre of the Old Town area really resembles nothing short of a shopping complex - there seem to be loads of shops peering out from almost every corner. Whether you are window shopping or looking for a holiday memory, Kos Town is home to the best selection of stores.

Here you will be able to find virtually anything you require, with shops selling everything from touristy souvenirs and cheap clothing, to all kinds of jewellery and leatherwear. Also in Kos Town is a popular indoor market, where a host of local produce and handicrafts await, including fruit, vegetables, olive oil and even honey.

Where to Shop

Most shops in Kos Town and other major tourist hotspots are open all day long, between the hours of 09:00 to 22:00, and rarely closing for an afternoon siesta. There are also some local Greek kiosks known as 'periptero' which often choose to stay open 24 hours a day, providing snack foods, magazines and some groceries.

The shopping scene in Kos Town is especially appealing around its back streets and winding alleyways, which lead off Eleftherias Square and also around the town's historical Nymphaion remains.
