Kos Hotels and Accommodation

(Kos, Dodecanese, Greece)

Summer photo of hotel pool complexHome to many beautiful and huge, luxury hotels, a number of which come complete with outstanding coastal views and surrounding scenery, the selection of accommodation on Kos is excellent. Kos remains popular all the year round, although during July and August, lodging quickly becomes scarce and hotel rooms can be hard to find, particularly if you are travelling alone.

In recent years, many Kos hotels have become dependent upon large tour operators, which book up rooms in advance and provided package deals. This means the accommodation on the island remains quite affordable, whether you book with the hotel directly, or through a holiday travel agent.

Where to Stay

Kos Town is home to the biggest selection of resort hotels on the island and many are conveniently close to the harbourfront and the Atki Koundourioti. The most popular tend to offer not only the best value for money, with spacious accommodation, onsite restaurants and good facilities, but the best views and beachfront locations, with rooms overlooking the Kerme Gulf and often featuring private balconies.

One such hotel is the relatively new Kos Aktis on the Vasileos Georgios, or the Akti Miaouli, which is located right on the beachfront and as near to the town centre as you could possibly get. Other recommended Kos accommodation includes the Hotel Afendoulis on the Evripilou, and the Pension Alexis on the Irodotou, which has long been a firm favourite with budget travellers. Also popular on Kos is the Hotel Kamelia on the tree-lined street of Artemisias, and the rather famous Alexandra Hotel, which is just a stone's throw from the harbourfront and beaches.
