Monument to Beethoven
Unfortunately when we were in Bonn we didn't have time to visit Beethoven's birthplace, which is now a museum, but we did manage to check out the lovely Beethoven Monument. It dominates the Munsterplatz and was erected in 1845, on the 75th birthday of this famous composer. It features a bronze statue and some beautifully carved granite reliefs. A nice centrepiece to the square.

The house where Beethoven was born
Beethoven was born in Bonn in 1770 and his birthplace on the Bonngasse has been turned into a museum. In total there are 12 rooms in the museum, which are filled with information about Beethoven's life at the time. There is an adjoining newer building with music playing, actual handwritten musical scores, various letters and some of his most personal items - even some ear trumpets. We enjoyed the weird 3D music show in the Stage for Music Visualization in the basement. The city hall is very nearby.
