Weymouth Hotels and Accommodation

(Weymouth, Dorset, England, UK)

Picture of hotels along the seafrontThe borough of Weymouth and Portland has been a leading seaside hotspot and popular holiday resort ever since Victorian times. As a direct result of its popularity and booming summer tourism industry, Weymouth is now home to an extensive selection of hotels, with plenty of accommodation being a mere stroll away from the beachfront and busy port.

Much of the accommodation and lodging in Weymouth comes in the form of small B&Bs and guest houses, with many of these lining the actual Esplanade and often being based around Lennox Street. The Chatsworth Hotel on the Esplanade is always a popular B&B option and enjoys stunning views across the bay and the Old Harbour.

Hotels close to the World Heritage Coastline, the bustling beachfront and the Old Harbour area are at a premium and especially pricey during the high season, from June to September. However, if you book ahead or alternatively at the last minute, discounted accommodation is often available.

Where to Stay

A great place for a long family summer holiday or simply a short break, Weymouth offers the perfect getaway. The town's tourist information centre actively promotes local accommodation and will always be happy to assist those arriving here and looking for a place to stay, whatever the time of year. Some of the cheapest lodging here includes family run B&Bs and guesthouses on the outskirts of town and just a short drive from the beachfront and action.

Amongst the most popular places to stay in central Weymouth, the main thoroughfare incorporating London Road, High East Street and High West Street is lined with plenty of affordable hotels and guest houses. Further accommodation can be found around nearby Cornwall Road, Damer's Road, King's Road and Weymouth Road.

Self-catering accommodation is also popular and a number of centrally located flats and small town houses in Weymouth can be booked prior to arrival. In the low season, this type of accommodation can be booked for short stays of two or three days, although from May onwards, it can only be reserved for a minimum of a week or more, when prices begin to rise sharply.

Those looking for an alternative to mainstream hotels in Weymouth will find numerous camping sites nearby, with caravan and tent pitches offered for reasonable prices.
