Re. A slice of Cypriot history
Next time I recommend you try and take in Buffavento Castle too. Just as amazing and I don't understand why it often lives in Hilarion's shadow. It's the highest castle in the area and it's just 10 minutes away from the centre.

Re. Kill two Kyrenia birds with one stone
If you enjoyed the views of the area from the castle then I also recommend you head to Bellapais Monastery and take things up a notch. You also have old architecture to marvel at if that is your main thing.

A slice of Cypriot history
We would have been quite content with just spending time at the beach on our holiday in Cyprus but it is hard to ignore some of the historical attractions that these Mediterranean countries have. St. Hilarion Castle was the highlight for me and is recommended to all that head to northern Cyprus!

Kill two Kyrenia birds with one stone
We were interested in both Kyrenia Castle and the Shipwreck Museum. Thankfully they were right next to each other so we were able to do them both on the same excursion. Well, the museum is actually inside the castle! Informative and great views of the area from the Ramparts.

The world's most impressive and unspoiled natural harbour
Forget the most famous one in Sydney, Kyrenia Harbour does it for me. Right next to the castle with plenty of boats, bars, and local food. Nice for a walk or just watching the world go by. I would recommend that those with hire vehicles find somewhere to park up a little out of the way though as spaces are scarce.
