Re. Historical Party Area
Hello Amy. You won't find party animal life there but the place we call 'Old Split' is also very same to Hvar Island. It is also closer to the center of our city! If it is island you are wanting though, check out Brac Island too.

Historical Party Area
My friend married a Croatian woman some years ago, so I obviously asked for her advice on the best places to visit in Split prior to leaving the UK. I didn't quite believe her when she recommended heading to Hvar Island for the best parties, as this is one of the most historic parts of the country. She was right though! Sightseeing by day, partying by night.

A Glimpse into the Past
Amazing is the word I would use to summarise Diocletian's Palace and it is among the best preserved historical ruins I've seen anywhere in Europe. A must for all those interested in history, particularly that of the Roman Empire.

Re. Sitting at the Dock of the Harbour
I'd like to recommend the Croatian Maritime Museum to you if possible, especially if you want to know more about the history of the harbour. I guarantee that children will also enjoy it too!

Sitting at the Dock of the Harbour
Although we stayed in the same hotel, Riva Harbor was our meeting point every morning and was perfect for a coffee as we watched the world go by. They say that this is Split is main symbol and although I'm not from the area, I wouldn't argue with that. Plenty of restaurants and cafes while of course being the main departure point for those visiting the nearby islands.
