Schlossberg Park
The Schlossberg Park in Graz is the best place to come for views of Graz. There are around 260 step to reach the very top, or you can go up using the funicular railway. At the top it has amazing restaurant, as well a some gift shops. There are lots of benches where you can sit down and people watch. The park is just a short walk from central Graz and is definitely the place to come if you want to take a photo of the city from above. Shame about the graffiti in places.

Beautiful spiral staircase in the Burg
The Burg castle on the Hofgasse has got a really incredible double spiral staircase inside and it really is so unusual. These two individial spirals seem to keep crossing each other as they meet each floor. You've really got to walk up them to experience this taste of Austria. It's very difficult to take a photograph to actually do it justice, my amateur attempts were pretty feeble!

The Graz Belfry (Grazer Uhrturm)
The belfry is a very famous landmark in Graz, on the Schlossberg, and you really are able to see it from virtually all across the city. Until fairly recently there was a second tower standing alongside the Grazer Uhrturm, very dark in colour to represent the shadow of the belfry, but it has been taken down. The belfry itself has changed itself appearance a lot over the years and around 300 years ago its wooden balconies and clockface were added. We went up on the terrace and were surprised how quiet the city appeared from above.
