Queenstown eateries often specialise in seafood, such as calamari, cod, salmon, tuna, mussels and oysters, and enjoy waterfront views and make the very most of the coastal scenery on offer.

Venison, lamb and beef also regularly make an appearance on restaurant menus in Queenstown and come in the form of chargrilled steaks, hotspot stews and roasts, often being washed done with a flavoursome bottle of New Zealand wine. Pizzas, pasta dishes, Indian cuisine and Japanese dining venues are all easy to find if you fancy an alternative.

Where to Eat

For waterfront views, check out the eateries around the Steamer Wharf, where fine dining is provided by the Wai Waterfront Seafood Restaurant and Wine Bar, with seven-course menus being available for those with a healthy appetite.

Nearby, Marine Parade is another good place to find somewhere to eat and stands next to the scenic Queenstown Gardens.

However, if it is views that you crave whilst dining out, then Queenstown's Skyline Restaurant and its 'Taste of New Zealand' buffet will not disappoint, being able to seat more than 300 diners. The adjoining Skyline Bar being perfect for a pre-dinner drink and the gondola rides add an extra element.
